Hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Louisiana jumped a bit in Friday's update from the Louisiana Department of Health.
There are 620 patients being treated for the coronavirus, an increase of 22 from Thursday. Of those, 65 patients are on ventilators, up one from the previous day.
LDH also reported an additional 696 COVID-19 cases statewide, which brought the running total since the pandemic began to 178,870.
The death toll from the coronavirus rose by 21 to stand at 5,614.
