Grammy-winning trumpeter Irvin Mayfield and his business partner Ronald Markham are set to appear in court next week.

Officials said yesterday that the two will be in court next Tuesday and are expected to change their plea to guilty to some of the 24 felony counts facing them.

The pair are accused of funneling $1.3 million meant for the public library to the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.

The men were originally indicted in 2017, and their trial has been delayed at least five times for various reasons including COVID-19.
