LDH: Over 10,000 Additional COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered Statewide

The Louisiana Department of Health said Thursday that 10,658 additional COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered statewide since Tuesday, bringing the total number of doses given out so far to 32,766.

So far, no vaccine series are complete as those who have received the first dose have yet to receive the second.

LDH also reported an additional 2,562 COVID-19 cases to bring the total since the pandemic began to 296,499. As of December 21, there are 247,501 presumed recovered in Louisiana from the coronavirus.

Hospitalizations dropped by 42 to 1,633 while the number of patients on ventilators increased by three to 199.

The death toll from the coronavirus was up by 46 to 7,271.

State health officials said there would be no update on Friday in observance of Christmas Day. LDH also does not update the dashboard on Saturdays, so the next release will be on Sunday.
