Teachers, Daycare Workers Eligible To Receive COVID-19 Vaccines Today

Starting today, COVID-19 vaccines will be available to pregnant women, teachers, school employees, and daycare workers across Louisiana.

Gov. John Bel Edwards confirmed last week that in addition to teachers, people between the ages of 54 and 61 are now eligible to start receiving vaccines.

State officials say it will take a while to get vaccinations to the newly eligible group, and they are working on getting doses to school districts as quickly as possible.

Around 90,000 new vaccine doses are expected to arrive in Louisiana this week.
