COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Expands In Louisiana

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Tuesday that eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine would expand to include those 16 and older with certain health conditions.

Newly added health conditions include asthma, high blood pressure, obesity and type 1 diabetes.

“This is great news for tens of thousands of additional, high risk Louisianans who are now eligible to take the COVID vaccines immediately," said Gov. Edwards.

Appointments are still required to receive the vaccine. A list of providers by parish can be found on the Louisiana Department of Health's website.
