COVID-19 Latest In Louisiana: 1,259 New Cases, 4 Deaths

The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,259 new COVID-19 cases and four additional deaths Monday.

It was the first coronavirus update from LDH since last Thursday due to the Good Friday and Easter holidays.

The total number of cases stood at 446,737 and the death toll was 10,165.

Hospitalizations fell to 292 statewide with 49 patients on ventilators.

There were 86,626 vaccine doses administered since the last update from LDH, with 2,045,266 doses given in total.

834,087 out of 1,273,573 vaccine series are now complete statewide.

Eligibility to receive the vaccine now includes anyone 16 and older in Louisiana. There are over 2,200 providers enrolled as part of the distribution process.
