NOPD Investigating Violent Holiday Weekend With 5 Shootings, 1 Death

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating five shootings in the city over the holiday weekend.

According to reports, the first shooting occurred early Sunday morning on Bourbon and Canal streets with two injuries, followed by one near Convention Center Boulevard with one person hurt.

Police say a fatal shooting happened near Jesuit Hight School with one victim who died at the hospital.

The weekend's violence also saw a woman wounded near Curran Boulevard and a man shot in the leg close to Downman Road.
