President Joe Biden promoted his big infrastructure and jobs plan during a visit to Louisiana Thursday.

Biden said the nation needs to be rebuilt during a speech in Lake Charles. An old vehicular bridge loomed large behind the President during the speech, where Biden said the U.S. had failed to invest in infrastructure for nearly 50 years.

He argued the U.S. used to lead the world when it came to infrastructure.

Biden also said climate change is real and said a national rebuilding program must make the U.S. better-prepared for extreme weather events.

After speaking in Lake Charles, the President then visited a Sewerage & Water Board water treatment plant in New Orleans.
