A bill decriminalizing marijuana is heading to Gov. John Bel Edwards' desk after clearing the state House and Senate.

The bill that passed Monday decriminalizes possession of 14 grams of pot or less, with no jail time and a reduced fine from $300 to $100.

Democratic Rep. Cedric Glover of Shreveport, the bill's sponsor, said similar laws and ordinances have already passed in Shreveport, New Orleans and Baton Rouge and he wants to make the law consistent across the state.
