Mayors of New Orleans, Baton Rouge Announce Challenge To Get Vaccinated

The mayors of the capital area and New Orleans are hoping to motivate residents to get vaccinated.

East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor- President Sharon Weston Broome and Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced Thursday a challenge to see which city can have the highest vaccination rate over the next 30 days.

Mayor Broome says nothing is at stake except city pride and the health of residents.

So far, 41 percent of eligible residents have been vaccinated in the capital region compared to the nearly 60 percent in New Orleans.
