Dr. William Tate is the new man on LSU's campus.

Tate began his first official day on the job Tuesday as President of the university and met with some faculty, staff, and students. He replaced former LSU Interim President Tom Galligan, who served in that role since January of last year after F. King Alexander left to become the President of Oregon State University.

Prior to arriving at LSU, Tate previously served as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and as Provost at the University of South Carolina.
