Louisiana's two U.S. senators are split on a new $1 trillion infrastructure bill currently under debate in Congress.

Sen. John Kennedy said yesterday that he opposes the bill and likened it to welfare spending with only 23% going to infrastructure.

Sen. Bill Cassidy commented that he favors the bill because it will provide infrastructure and internet service for Louisiana and will be paid for without borrowing money.

A final vote on the bill in the Senate is expected sometime this month.
