LDH: 28% Of COVID-19 Cases Reported In La. Wednesday Are In Children

The Louisiana Department of Health reported 6,606 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.

Christina Stephens, deputy chief of staff at the Governor's office, said data showed 28% of the new cases were from children.

Hospitalizations rose to 3,022 statewide, with 448 patients on ventilators.

According to the Louisiana Department of Health's online COVID-19 dashboard, in some LDH regions of the state the number of available ICU beds number in the single digits.

The death toll rose by 87 to 11,793.
