Tropical Storm Mindy Forms, Not A Threat To Southeast Louisiana

The National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Mindy formed Wednesday afternoon in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico.

Mindy was headed for a Wednesday night landfall along the Florida Pandhandle and is not a threat to southeastern Louisiana.

A tropical storm warning was issued for the coast of the Panhandle from Mexico Beach to the Steinhatchee River.

The NHC says Mindy could bring two to four inches of rain with maximum amounts of six inches across the Panhandle into parts of southern Georgia and South Carolina through Thursday morning. A few isolated tornadoes are also possible along the Panhandle tonight into tomorrow morning.
