Louisiana's multi-billion-dollar seafood industry is reeling from the damage caused by Hurricane Ida's storm surge.

Ida shut down oyster beds all along the Gulf Coast. Before they can reopen, the Department of Health will have to conduct a safety inspection and test for contamination.

In addition, there were fishermen who lost equipment in the storm or who were displaced themselves.

Industry analysts say it could be weeks before the industry gets back on its feet, and Tropical Storm Nicholas hasn't helped.
