Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon says property owners affected by Hurricane Ida are complaining about slow response from insurers.

Donelon says he's hearing a lot about adjusters failing to show up for inspections at the appointed time and he's taking steps to get more insurance adjusters active in Louisiana as to join the 7,000 already making the rounds.

He's extended the deadline to contact their policyholders for the initial contact, either by phone or by email, from 30 to 60 days.
