Phase 3 continues for families affected by Hurricane Ida to register for help from the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
Residents whose last names start with N through S in Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Terrebonne parishes can register for DSNAP today.
Officials say there have been long waits over the past few weeks caused by people trying to call in on the wrong day.
According to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, applicants must select the following menu options:
- 1st Option - Select Language
- 2nd Option - Press 6
- 3rd Option - Press 1
When residents call to apply and be interviewed for DSNAP, a worker will:
- Verify the applicant’s identity and residency
- Obtain information about income, resources and disaster-related expenses
