The Louisiana Department of Health says booster shots of coronavirus vaccines are now available in Louisiana to eligible adults.
CDC guidelines define eligible adults as those who have had the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine six months or more ago and are age 65 or older, or are age 18 or older and have one of a number of underlying medical conditions that increase their risk of infection.
A booster shot is also recommended for anyone 18 years old and up who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
