Senator Bill Cassidy say a new federal law he helped write will help patients hospitalized with coronavirus deal with medical billing.

The Louisiana Republican says the No Surprises Act will benefit other patients as well.

Cassidy says the law will help iron out difficulties that arise when patients find themselves facing high medical bills because of dealing with out-of-network hospitals, doctors, or even equipment.

He says the new law also addresses bills for elective medical procedures.
