The Louisiana Gaming Control Board says mobile sports betting will go live in parishes that have approved it on Friday.

Chairman Ronnie Johns says eligible operators will start accepting bets as early as 8 a.m. Friday.

"The remaining mobile sports wagering operators are in the process of meeting statutory and regulatory requirements and will be approved once those requirements are met," said Johns.

Residents have been bombarded with commercials from various sportsbook operators offering sign-up bonuses and at least two are ready for the launch.

"Caesars Sportsbook is ready for mobile sports betting’s debut in Louisiana on Friday," said Eric Hession, Co-President of Caesars Digital. "This is an opportunity we’ve been working toward for a long time."

BetMGM has also received approval from the board.

"We're proud that BetMGM will be in the first wave of operators to launch mobile sports betting in Louisiana this Friday," said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. "We thank both the Louisiana Gaming Control Board and the Louisiana State Police and look forward to parlaying BetMGM’s success in neighboring regions into a long, successful, and responsible relationship with sports fans in the state."

Certain casinos across Louisiana have offered in-person sportsbooks for a few months ahead of the mobile launch.
