The omicron surge may be peaking, but pandemic mandates are still in effect with the arrival of carnival season.

In the city's weekly press conference on Tuesday, city spokesman Beau Tidwell said health and safety requirements for parades won't be changing even as omicron cases start to subside.

Tidwell said vaccinations, boosters, and masks are still in order.

Riders and other participants must be vaccinated or provide a negative test in order to be on a float or in a parade.
