Legislators investigating Ronald Greene's death in police custody now have subpoena power.

Members of the House of Representatives approved a new resolution establishing that committees formed for specific purposes have the same authority as standing committees, including the power to demand that people under investigation hand over records relevant to the probe.

Greene died in 2019 at the end of a police chase.

Louisiana State Police claimed he died in a car crash, but body cam video shows troopers beating him.
