The AAA Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Louisiana is $4.00 a gallon for regular unleaded.
That price is down four cents from a week ago, and is a $1.37 more than a year ago.
The national average is $4.23.
Gasoline supplies increased while demand was slightly down, resulting in reduced prices.
The average price at the pump in New Orleans is $4.06, and in Baton Rouge, it's $4.
