A special grand jury will look at whether Louisiana State Police broke the law during the 2019 death of Ronald Greene.

Union Parish DA John Belton announced today he'd been given permission by the federal government to put the grand jury together.

Greene died after a chase in Union Parish with reports suggesting trooper beat him to death.

One trooper was suspended for Greene's death. Another trooper died in a one-car crash after learning he was going to be fired for his role.

The federal government is also investigating.
