Residents of a Jefferson Parish community are overrun with an invasive species of ducks.

The Muscovy ducks are native to South America.

Lately large numbers of them are roaming the streets, looking for food, damaging vehicles, and pooping everywhere.

A parish council member is offering up to $50,000 in parish funds to hire a trapper to remove the Muscovy ducks and possibly euthanize them.

Residents say trapping them may be the only option, since federal law forbids the relocation of an invasive species.
