The New Orleans City Council is asking Entergy what can be done about customers' high electricity bills.

Utility customers told the council on Tuesday that their bills have dramatically increased this summer.

Entergy says bills are higher because of the heat wave, the soaring price of natural gas, and the shutdown of the Grand Gulf nuclear power plant during February and March.

But Entergy added that natural gas prices are coming down and the nuclear plant is back online, so customers may get a break from high bills soon.
