Ascension Parish students return to class today, and only about three-quarters of their school buses have air conditioning.
School officials say the plan was to have air conditioning in the entire fleet by the time school started, but supply problems and other delays kept it from happening.
For now, they're prioritizing elementary school kids for the air-conditioned buses. That's going to result in some alterations to the bus routes until all the buses have air conditioning.
