A saltwater wedge is making its way up the Mississippi River again.

The intrusion is the result of low water levels in the river that allow saltwater to flow in from the Gulf.

During last year's drought, a saltwater wedge headed far upriver, and many residents of the New Orleans area bought bottled water to prepare for it.

Right now the wedge is near Boothville in lower Plaquemines Parish.

No advisories are in effect, but the Army Corps of Engineers is keeping an eye on the situation.
