An important water system project in New Orleans needs another $29 million in funding.
The New Orleans City Council is leaning on Mayor LaToya Cantrell to get the funding from the state.
The Sewerage & Water Board says the West Power Complex will clear up the problems with its obsolete drainage pumping system when it opens next year.
The needed funding would connect the power station to the city's drinking water supply.
A federal grant would provide $17 million. The rest needs to come from the city, the state, or both.
