The United Cajun Navy is reporting the discovery of the wreckage of a small plane that crashed into Lake Pontchartrain a week ago.

The volunteer group announced on Saturday via social media that they'd found the wreckage of the Cessna, and that their divers were looking for the bodies of the flight instructor and student pilot who were on board.

Officials have identified the two missing people on the plane as flight instructor Taylor Dickey and student pilot Lieutenant David Jahn of the U.S. Navy.

The Coast Guard spent nearly two days searching for the missing plane before suspending the search effort last Wednesday.

Search teams from the Jefferson and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Offices and the NOPD also reported finding bits and pieces of the missing plane last week.
