Officials are identifying a teenage swimmer who drowned on Saturday after a heavy current pulled him away from Grand Isle.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim as 17-year-old Jordan Naquin of Houma.
The sheriff's office notified the Coast Guard around 2 p.m. that a person was in the water about 500 yards from the jetties near Grand Isle Beach.
The Coast Guard activated a boat and a helicopter for the search, but it was called off after Naquin's body washed up on shore.
