The criminal case against Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill may be over before it started.
That's the view of Dane Ciolino, a law professor at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
Less than 24 hours after an Orleans Parish grand jury indicted Murrill for 16 counts of intimidation and malfeasance, the Louisiana Supreme Court granted her request for a stay and then vacated the arrest warrant.
Ciolino says the indictment was irregular to begin with, since it was returned in closed court instead of open court.
