ICE Opening Facility For Self-Deporters At England Airpark In Alexandria

An ICE facility for families and unaccompanied children who are self-deporting is planned for England Airpark in Alexandria.

The airfield and the Trump administration have finalized a deal to convert vacant military barracks into a 528-bed holding facility.

ICE will pay for the renovations of the barracks and the Economic Development District will be paid about $530,000 a year.

Officials say people would stay at the facility for a few days before boarding charter flights already operating out of the airpark.
