Jefferson Parish is facing growing scrutiny for accepting private residential inspection reports without complete documentation showing the homes are actually checked for safety.
That is according to an evaluation released Tuesday by Parish Inspector General Kim Raines Chatelain.
The review of 94 inspection reports was prompted in part by arrests and an indictment over alleged falsified reports and fraudulent permitting in the area.
Investigators found dozens of submissions missing required photos or location stamps, including one using photos from another property and four involving an unregistered inspector.
Parish officials had 44 days to respond but did not.
