Louisiana lawmakers are working to revise the state's school funding formula.
Educators from across the state showed up Thursday as the effort got underway in a committee room at the state capitol.
For three years, the state has paid teachers a $2,000 annual bonus and support staff a bonus of $1,000. This year, Gov. Jeff Landry ordered local school districts to cover the cost themselves, which some of them can't afford.
Between now and January, a task force will review how school districts spend their money, in an effort to come up with ways to fund the bonuses.
