A Baton Rouge judge is siding with athletes who are seeking a fifth year of eligibility for college football after having played in the NFL.
Thursday's ruling keeps the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA from taking prohibitive action against the players or against LSU.
The ruling affects several LSU football players, including former New Orleans Saint Zxavian Harris, former Cleveland Brown Dae'Quan Wright and former Denver Bronco Blake Cotton. The SEC says it disagrees with the ruling.
LSU must have its roster finalized by today, ahead of Saturday's season opener against Clemson.
