Louisiana wants the U.S. Supreme Court to stop other states from protecting doctors and other providers who mail abortion pills into the state.

Attorney General Liz Murrill announced Wednesday that Louisiana is joining Alabama and Arkansas in suing New York, Massachusetts, and California over their abortion "shield laws." The lawsuit claims those protections prevent Louisiana from enforcing its own laws when pills prescribed in another state are mailed to Louisiana residents.
