Two Areas Of Interest In Atlantic, No Immediate Gulf Threat

Two areas of activity in the Atlantic have the attention of the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida.

One is a tropical wave about 850 miles east of the Windward Islands Thursday morning. "Although this disturbance shows some signs of organization on satellite imagery, there is no evidence of a surface circulation at this time," read a tropical weather outlook. Conditions are expected to become unfavorable for development starting tonight and lasting through the weekend.

A non-tropical low pressure system is expected to form before the weekend in the subtropical Atlantic and forecasters say it could be a subtropical or tropical system over the weekend or early next week over the central Atlantic Ocean.
