State officials say they are closing offices in three parishes today because of continuing power outages.

State offices in Assumption, Iberia, and St. Mary parishes will remain closed today as workers continue to repair power lines downed during Hurricane Barry.

Utility company Entergy said at one time over 200,000 customers were without power with 14,000 still without services on Sunday night in St Mary Parish.

Officials say the work has been slowed because their bucket trucks are unable to operate safely in high winds.
