Federal and state inspectors are praising the performance of Louisiana's levees during Hurricane Barry.

Authorities said yesterday there is no permanent damage to most levees from both Barry and heavy rainfalls from last week.

Inspectors said some areas are still too wet to look at, but they are confident the majority of the structures are fine since the storm surge never breached them.
