Some Jefferson Parish school teachers are considering striking due to safety concerns with the upcoming school year.

Riverdale High School math chair Tian Buzbee said she is unable to fit 25 students in her classroom if they were all spaced six feet apart.

Buzbee says there are several health and safety concerns the district needs to correct before the school year starts in order to protect their students.

The union says they will support teacher striking for the safety of themselves and their students.
