The National Weather Service is confirming an 11th tornado during Tropical Storm Arthur's passage through southeastern Louisiana.
The weather agency announced Monday that an EF-1 tornado touched down around 5 a.m. last Thursday near Bayou Cane and moved across Highway 190 west of Lacombe. They say it probably started as a waterspout on Lake Pontchartrain before coming ashore.
The tornado was on the ground for under two minutes and traveled less than a mile. Its 95 mile-per-hour winds caused only minor tree damage.
