Our favorite faux Hispanic, Beto O’Rourke, wants you to know that both he and his wife have ancestors who owned slaves. Beto, a politician who openly supports a reparations plan for black people, admits that everything he is, and everything he has, is due to the white privilege afforded to him on the backs of slaves.
If he’s not careful, he’s going to sprain that pandering muscle.
In a piece posted on Medium.com, Beto laid out that a paternal great, great, great grandfather owned two women named Rose and Eliza in the 1850s. And possibly another maternal great, great, great grandfather owned slaves in the 1860s, although the jury is still out on that one.
So, both sides of the family were horrible human beings who owned other human beings.
Additionally, records show that his wife, Amy, is descended from at least one slave owner, and another of her ancestors FOUGHT FOR THE CONFEDERACY!!!
Oh. My. God. This is earth shattering.
As a result of the documents coming to light, Beto is now calling for reparations. He wants all of us to pay for slavery. Which really ticks me off, because MY ancestors did not own slaves, and were in fact, abolitionists. So, I ain’t payin’
But I have an idea for Mr. and Mrs. O’Rourke. Since they feel so bad about what their terrible-no-good ancestors have done, let them pay the reparations. After all, they benefited from the unpaid labor and forced servitude of other Children of God.
Why doesn’t Beto use his newly minted Ancestry.com account and search out the descendants of Rose and Eliza, and pay them directly? Yep, make one of Amy’s daddy’s checks and pay the descendants directly. I’m sure he’s willing to fork out those resources just so his emo son-in-law can get a few votes.
But he can’t do that. He’s got to be careful, our Beto does. I’m sure he wants to avoid the appearance that he’s using his white privilege and married privilege to buy votes. That’s why he wants the rest of us to pay the reparations.
He gets the votes, feels better about himself, and makes the rest of us pay.
He’s got this whole Democrat thing down pat.
