Louisiana Woman Says "Those drugs aren’t mine!" After Jumping Into Lake

If you start running away from the cops before they even try to pull you over, you're probably guilty.

Law enforcement officials from Union Parish Sheriff’s Office say they were patrolling in Farmerville, Louisiana when a car they were driving behind suddenly started to speed away, totally unprovoked.

The Union Parish Sheriff office reports the driver then ran off Pleasure Island Road and smashed into a guardrail.

That's when things got weird.

The driver, 23-year-old Cecelia Moore, fled on foot from her vehicle and jumped into Lake D’Arbonne.

KLFY reports:

A deputy and an agent from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries eventually pulled Gates out of the water. They say as soon they pulled her from the water, she blurted out “Those drugs aren’t mine!”
Moore, and her passenger Hayward Crenshaw, 28, were both arrested. Deputies say drugs were found in the car. Both denied owning the car.

Moore and Crenshaw are facing charges for possession of marijuana, possession of meth and Clonazpam, and possession with intent to distribute meth.

Moore has also been charged with aggravated flight from an officer, illegal lane usage, and two counts of resisting arrest.
