Oh Great, Another Bush is Running for Office in Texas

What is it about political dynasties that seems so appealing to voters?

Nothing, hopefully, as another Bush is about to embark on a political career in hopes that people will put a check next to a name that sounds familiar on a ballot filled with people who probably worked harder in life to get where they're going than the guy named "Bush".

Meet Pierce Bush - grandson of the late President George H.W. Bush - who wanted to fill a Congressional seat previously filled by his grand pappy (district 7). Instead it's now been announced he will run for district 22.

We've learned about Pierce's intentions to run for office after his dad, Neil, sent out an email obtained by Texas Tribune to announce the news.

Thanks, Dad!

Pierce will be running against Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls, a career law enforcement official who has been publicly attacked by liberals for his efforts to help improve Texas and support the Republican party.

Pierce, a political new-comer who has spent his life working in the non-profit sector, hasn't publicly associated himself with any conservative causes (or, at least, none that were well documented). His Twitter account is filled with posts that shows admiration for his grandpa and other members of the Bush family, but nothing about the NRA, pro-life causes or border security.

So what hot button issues does he support? Who knows - he hasn't really told us yet. But someone will still vote for him because his last name is "Bush" and he has an "R" behind his name.

Congratulations, Pierce. Lucky for you nepotism is still alive and well in America, even if we did reject the monarchy in the 1700s.
