California Congressman Ted Lieu raised eyebrows across Washington Wednesday; bizarrely saying he’d “love to regulate the content of speech” but is prohibited from doing so by the First Amendment.
Lieu was speaking with CNN after attending a Congressional hearing surrounding tech companies’ recent efforts to censor content and crackdown on “fake news.”
“I would love to be able to regulate the content of speech. The First Amendment prevents me from doing so.
