First Female Inductee To State's Agriculture Hall Of Distinction

This year's induction ceremony for the Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction will be noteworthy because it will mark the first time a woman will join the ranks of those inducted.

She's 96-year-old Margie Yates Jenkins with a decades-long resume in the cultivation of plants used in landscaping.

Also being honored March 22nd at L'auberge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge is the late Pierre "Pete" Lanaux, a longtime sugar cane farmer.
