House Majority Whip Steve Scalise is out of a DC hospital following a successful surgery.
Medstar Washington Hospital Center released a statement today saying the Louisiana Republican was released after the planned surgery and will be "recovering at home for the next several days."
Scalise was wounded in a shooting spree at a congressional baseball practice last summer in Alexandria, Virginia. The operation is one in a series of planned procedures as part of his recovery.
