Lawmakers Set Sights On Constitutional Convention

Louisiana's money woes have state lawmakers looking at the possibility of calling a constitutional convention.

Just such a bill is headed to the full House for consideration after clearing the chamber's Appropriations Committee Monday.

The legislation seeks a limited convention focusing on financial matters related to state government, some lawmakers believing too much money is tied up by amendments made to the state constitution.

Right now, another special session on the budget is likely to be called by June to address the state's money woes.
