The federal government is giving the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority funding to update the ferry terminal on the Westbank.
The RTA will receive $2.4 million to add two ferries, along with modernizing the terminal in the Algiers neighborhood.
Some upgrades will include heat and air-conditioning, new flooring and seating, an emergency generator, and new signs providing real time information.
